A. Carlisle has only changed Edward, Esme, Rosalie, and Emmett. There aren't any others that live elsewhere.
Esme didn't just fall behind everyone else—she was like a golfer who played entirely in the rough, never touching a fairway.
Carlisle was handing something small to Esme.
This struck her with the force of revelation, and something wonderful happened-Esme was stuck in a handstand.
"Esme?" he asked calmly.
Rosalie stalked out the front door without another glance in my direction, but Esme touched my cheek as she passed.
I smiled hesitantly at Esme.
Esme was at my side in half a heartbeat, swinging me up easily into her arms, and dashing up the stairs before I could gasp in shock.
Esme was already moving; her hand touched an inconspicuous keypad on the wall, and with a groan, huge metal shutters began sealing up the glass wall.
Nessie, Edward, Jacob, Alice, Rosalie, Emmett, Esme and Sue are there already. I came home for a few hours to gather myself... the smell of blood in the hospital became hard for me to handle.
Edward: Bella, this is Esme. My mother for all intents and purposes.
"Esme and Rosalie will be taking your truck, Bella," he told me as he passed.
