   Bullying(欺凌)atschoolisaproblemaroundtheworld.Mostsch...

Bullying(欺凌)at school is a problem around the world. Most schools have. tried to reduce bullying by- making more rules. And many schools even have made their teachers supervise(監督)their students' behavior more strictly But one school in Auckland, New Zealand has done something different. Instead of making more rules for the playground, they reduced the number of rules. What happened? There's less bullying and other injuries.

At Swanson Primary School, during playtime, students can play in the mud, climb trees, ride skateboards, and do many such things that aren't allowed at other schools. If they promise that they do not hurt others and do not make trouble for their classmates, they can do just about anything they want.

“They may accidentally hurt themselves, but that's 0K," the teacher Bruce Mclachlan says. " We want kids to be safe and we look after them, but we end up wrapping(包裹)them in cotton wool when in fact they should be able to fall over. " Because students are able to do almost anything they want, they are happier. And happier students are less interested in making trouble. That makes parents and teachers happy.

Playtime freedom all helps the students learn the dangers of rude behavior. This will help develop the part of their brain that measures risks. This can be helpful when they are older. For example, if a kid does something rude on a skateboard and gets hurt, he or she will be less likely to repeat the rude activity. And if kids learn not to be rude on a skateboard, they are less likely to be hurt later in life when they're driving cars. Safety is important, but as Swanson Primary School has shown, more rules don't always mean more safety.

【分析】

這是一篇說明文。大多數學校都試圖透過制訂更多的規則來減少欺凌現象,而奧克蘭的一所小學卻減少規則,使得欺凌與傷害現象減少了。

65.細節理解題。由文章第一段中的" Instead of making more rules for the playground, they reduced the number of rules. What happened? There's less bullying and other injuries(不是針對在*場上制定更多的規則,他們減少了規則的數量。發生了什麼呢?欺凌和傷害減少了)"可知,學校減少了校園規則之後,受到欺凌和其他傷害的學生數量減少了。故選C。

66.細節理解題。由文章第二段最後一句的內容“If they promise that they do not hurt others and do not make trouble for their classmates, they can do just about anything they want.”可知,Swanson小學的學生如果承諾不傷害其他人,不給同學製造麻煩,他們幾乎就可以做任何他們想做的事情。由此可知,選A。

67.詞句猜測題。分析句子結構可知,“ we end up wrapping(包裹)them in cotton wool”的意思是跟“We want. .. them(我們想讓孩子安全餅照顧他們)”和“ when in fact... fall over(其實他們應該跌倒)”相反的。由此可知,他們對孩子的保護過頭了。wrap sb. in cotton wool意爲“嬌慣某人,悉心保護某人”。故選B。

68.推理判斷題。由文章最後一段中的" Playtime freedom also helps the students learn the dangers of rude behavior. This will help develop the part of their brain that measures risks" 可知,遊戲時間的自由也能幫助學生了解粗魯行爲的危害,這將有助於發展他們大腦中測量風險的部分,幫助他們做出安全的決定。故選B。
